Sometimes you want to have cast open and consume beer during a show without them becoming tipsy! The easiest way is to fit a soft drink can inside the beer can. In the show we needed 9 cans to be opened during the show, so we made 10 converted beer cans (one spare is always good!). Once the performance is over, peel off the tape, remove and dispose of the soft drink can, and re-load the beer can sleeve with another soft drink can for next time |

Cutting template Cut the bottom off one of the soft drink cans (I used a mini abrasive cutting disc). Use a fold as a guide line to keep the cut as straight as possible, so the trimmed soft drink can will be a template for cutting the beer cans you want to convert. |

Marking a beer can Sit the trimmed soft drink can over the top of the beer can to draw the cutting line. Check the soft drink can has not become distorted before drawing your guideline. |

Cutting a beer can Cut the top off the beer can and use a drum sander to enlarge the hole and remove any burrs or sharp points in the metal. Aim for a snug fit for the inner can as this helps with mechanical strength. |
